    Mayo r Jayme Stayton Mayor Jayme Stayton is currently fulfilling his third term as the esteemed Mayor of the City of Daleville. His journey began at Enterprise High School, and after moving to Daleville at the age of 14, he has spent more than 30 years nurturing a deep connection to this vibrant community he proudly calls home. After his high school years, Mayor Stayton embarked on a career in the construction industry, where he gained firsthand experience and honed his skills. This foundation paved the way for his entry into the Daleville City workforce, where he developed a deep understanding of local government operations. Throughout his years of service, he has forged strong, meaningful relationships with residents and city employees alike, which has empowered him to effectively respond to the diverse needs and concerns of his community. In addition to his professional commitments, Mayor Stayton has devoted numerous hours to volunteer work in Daleville. His courageous service with Daleville Fire and Rescue, as well as his role as a Reserve Officer with the Daleville Police Department, illustrates his unwavering commitment to public safety. Furthermore, he has shared his enthusiasm for sports by coaching local youth teams in tee ball, fast-pitch baseball, and basketball, fostering teamwork and camaraderie in the next generation. Mayor Stayton’s passion for community outreach is also evident through his involvement with organizations such as Keep the Faith, which provides nourishing meals to those experiencing homelessness, and Greenpeace, advocating for environmental preservation. With a steadfast dedication to public service and an enduring love for the City of Daleville, Mayor Stayton continues to lead with vision and purpose, focusing on cultivating community growth, unity, and progress. The term “citizen” encompasses individuals and groups of every age, education , philosophy, occupation, economic level, ethnic origin, and human condition. Services We always welcome new patrons, and we would like to tell you a few things you will need to know. Collections Our collection of approximately 20,000 items includes fiction, non-fiction, large print books, children’s materials, and reference books. We also offer access to DVDs and audiobooks available for check-out. Our patrons can also check out eBooks and digital audiobooks from the CamelliaNet state-wide consortium. There is a 10-cent per day, per item, and a late fee for items returned after the due date. However, the late fee total will never exceed a maximum of $3.00 fine per item. You may call us at (334) 503-9119 to renew your items for another two weeks. We also have a drop box for your convenience after hours. We ask that you only use the drop box for books. Do not place DVDs or audiobooks in the drop box. You will be responsible for any damages to DVDs or audiobooks dropped in the drop box. Library Cards The Daleville Public Library issues free library cards to residents of Daleville, Clayhatchee, Level Plains, and Ft. Novocell (Ft. Rucker). However, if you reside in another city or town, the Library will issue you a free library card if you are affiliated in any way with Daleville or Ft. Rucker, such as working or having children attending schools in these areas. All Library card applicants may apply for, receive a card, and borrow library materials immediately if they present acceptable identification showing their current residential address. Library card applications can be filled out only at the Daleville Public Library. The signature of a parent or guardian is required on applications for library cards for children under age 16. The parent or guardian is responsible for materials charged to his/her child's library card. Your first library card is free. Replacement cards are $2.00. Computer Access Your library has 21 computers available for public use with internet access and a full suite of office software. All of our computers have scanning and printing capabilities . Black and white copies are 20 cents; colored copies are 50 cents (text only); colored copies with picture(s) or picture(s) with text are $1.00. The cost will be doubled for copies printed on the front and back of the paper. This includes copies mistakenly printed. To use the computers, everyone must sign the Acceptable Use and Internet Safety Policy. Children under 18 must have a parent’s signature on their forms. We also have 6 iPads for use by children 10 and under with a wide variety of fun and educational apps. Faxing We can send faxes for $1.00 for the first page and 50 cents for each additional page. A free cover sheet is available on request. However, we cannot receive faxes. Programs The Daleville Public Library offers programs for a wide variety of ages throughout the year. Mayors Office | Daleville Alabama Mayo r Jayme Stayton ​ Mayor Jayme Stayton has been elected for his second term as Mayor of Daleville. He attended Enterprise High School. He moved to Daleville when he was 14 years old. He has made Daleville his home for the last 22 years. After high school, Stayton went into the construction business and later went to work for the City of Daleville. Through his work with the City of Daleville, he gained much experience and understanding of local government. He also built a strong rapport with the citizens of the City of Daleville. This rapport has enabled him to understand many of the concerns of the citizens and the employees of the City of Daleville. Stayton has volunteered with the Daleville Fire and Rescue and was a Daleville Police Department Reserve officer. Stayton also served as a coach for a local tee ball team, a fast-pitch baseball team, and a basketball coach as well. Stayton was also a member of the Keep the Faith organization that feeds the homeless and a member of Green Peace. His love for his community is why he ran for mayor of the City of Daleville. The fairways are tree-lined with numerous hardwoods and pines that gently roll through different elevation changes. The facility boasts a fully stocked Golf Shop, Divots Restaurant & Grille, Meeting & Banquet rooms, and a 300-yard-long lit Practice Range. The facility is open to the public and offers several types of membership opportunities. ​ About 15 minutes to the east is Highland Oaks Golf Course, part of Alabama's famed Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
