WES Leaders of the Month recognized
Twenty-nine students from Windham Elementary School were recently recognized for their leadership skills based on the school's seven habits philosophy.

WES follows the leadership philosophy of the Leader in Me program, which is based off Sean Covey's book "The Seven Habits of Happy Kids."

According to the Leader in Me website, the seven habits are Be Proactive; Begin with the End in Mind; Put First Things First; Think Win-Win; Seek First to Understand, then to Be Understood; Synergize; and, Sharpen the Saw.

These habits challenge WES students to take initiative, set goals and plan ahead, focus on the most important tasks, consider others opinions and emotions, work with others and take care of their own self both mentally and physically.

Each month, teachers choose who has best followed the seven habits and shown great leadership.

This month, the pre-kindergarten through second grade leaders are Jayden Gomez Blanco, Graysen Burgess, Xerman Casarez, Carlos Ruiz Yax Cal, Sophi Fluellen, Janessa Ibarra, Tyreece Kelsey, Tyson Kynard, Erica Lopez, Eros March, Caitlin Sikes, Malacki Walstrum, Kamill Walton and Alexis Willet.

The third through sixth grade leaders are Kenay Torrez Arroyo, Camry Carr, Sienna Cockerham, Alyssa Fish, Candida Jaurez, Angel Kasper, Cassandra Larson, Mace Manley, Briley Moore, Ediel Martinez Nieves, Nebriel Rodriguez, Naomi Sivacek, Javonnie Williams and Jazmin Zuniga.
