Children read to man’s best friend
The Daleville Public Library offers unique experiences for readers, including young readers. The Tail Waggin’ Tutors program, held in conjunction with Therapy Dogs International (TDI), allows children to feel comfortable reading with the help of interesting tutors: dogs. The program began in November 2017 at the library. TDI dog handlers bring in the furry friends for young readers to practice their skills comfortably. The dogs are trained therapy dogs and provide comfort not only to young readers, but also to hospital and nursing home patients and others. The program is held on the second Thursday of each month at the library at 4:45 p.m. The library also offers other experiences for Daleville citizens, including a coloring club, a Lego Club for children and more.
