New Daleville queens crowned
New Daleville queens were crowned during the Miss Daleville Pageant, hosted by the Daleville Chamber of Commerce and the Daleville Pageant Committee, on Saturday, March 10. The 15 participants were the stars of the pageant, which had the fitting theme of “Lights, Camera, Action.” Kirsten Boise and Amariah Key were crowned Miss Daleville and Little Miss Daleville, respectively. Boise was crowned by 2017 Miss Daleville Kaylee Lett. Key was crowned by 2017 Little Miss Daleville Julianna Glawson. To participate in the pageant, girls must meet certain age and grade requirements. Girls who wished to compete in the Miss Daleville category were required to be 17-21 years old. Girls who wished to compete in the Little Miss Daleville category were required to be in the first grade. The 2018 Junior Miss Daleville is Savannah Townsend. She was crowned by 2017 Junior Miss Daleville Alisha Scott. To compete in the Junior Miss Daleville competition, participants were required to be 13-16 years old. Mirage Moonschein was crowned the 2018 PreTeen Miss Daleville. She was crowned by 2017 Pre-Teen Miss Daleville Sarah Kate Howell. To compete in the Pre-Teen Miss Daleville competition, participants were required to be 10-12 years old. Skylar Thomas was crowned the 2018 Young Miss Daleville. She was crowned by 2017 Young Miss Daleville Addison Grubbs. To compete in the Young Miss Daleville competition, participants were required to 7-9 years old. The 2018 Future Little Miss is Braelyn Wentworth. She was crowned by 2017 Future Little Miss Daleville Cayleigh Warren. To compete in the Future Little Miss Daleville competition, participants were required to be 5-6 years old and not in the first grade. Iyania Moore was also named the 2018 Tiny Little Miss Daleville. She was crowned by 2017 Miss Daleville Kaylee Lett. To compete in the Tiny Little Miss Daleville competition, participants were required to be 3-4 years old. Participants also had the opportunity to compete in the Most Photogenic category. Participant Kansas Homes received this award. Chamber Executive Director Nancy Garner and the Daleville Pageant Committee apologized for any technical issues that occurred during the pageant, but Garner said everyone is looking forward to a great, new year with the 2018 Daleville queens.
