Initial plan for upgraded Daleville zoning ordinance revealed
In an effort to move the city of Daleville’s zoning ordinance from the “rotary dial era to the smart phone era,” the Planning Commission and the City Council are now one step closer to a new and improved zoning ordinance to help spur the future of the city. Mayor Claudia Wigglesworth made the phone analogy during a joint meeting of the council and planning commission Feb. 16.

Dale County Commissioner Steve McKinnon presented a $3,000 check from the state legislature, via State Sen. Harri Ann Smith, to Daleville High School Head Coach Josh Parrish Monday, Feb. 22. Parrish said the money is much needed and he is most appreciative of the support. Acting Daleville City Schools Superintendent Dr. Diane Flournoy said, “This donation is going to be a great benefit to the football program in helping them to do some much needed purchasing.”

Company re-investing in Daleville’s future with $2.4 million upgrade
Hidden Pointe, a 1980s-era apartment complex in Daleville, will be getting a makeover to the tune of about $2.47 million this year. Hall Housing Investments, Inc. of Dothan has decided to reinvest in the “City of Possibilities” with a complete makeover of the housing community off North Daleville Avenue. The complete renovation and additions are expected to begin within 60 to 90 days and be completed within nine to 12 months of the start date.
