The Daleville High School Concert Band made the 2,100-mile round trip to New York City and brought back two pieces of hardware from the Heritage Performance New York City Music Festival.
The trophies recognized the band as the top program in attendance at the festival, and gave recognition to the group for receiving all superior scores during the competition phase.
“It took a lot of practice,” said Tyme Jacobs, band captain. “We work hard during our fourth block classes, and it feels amazing to be able to represent for our school and town. It sets a bar for the next generation to come up and try to match. I want the younger students to work hard to try to surpass us.”
