The Daleville City Council announced at its regular meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 2, that it would begin recognizing those employees who have worked for and with the city for many years.

Discovered by accident more than two years ago, an expansive active gully near the rear of Culpepper Park and the city school bus barn, off Old Alabama Hwy. 134, continues to deteriorate and recent heavy rains have made it possible for the city to apply for a special grant to repair the area.

Phase One of Culpepper Park expansion approved by council
City Council members voted Tuesday, Jan. 19, to moved forward with Phase One of Culpepper Park’s expansion for two new ball fields. Per requirements, the council approved a resolution to enter into an agreement with Civil Southeast, LLC to complete the multi-phase project. The $315,000 cost of the initial phase was also green-lighted.

CSRA expansion means more high-tech jobs, more pilots can train
Construction is well underway and Computer Sciences Corporation—now CSRA Inc.—is planning to open its newest flight simulator and office building in October. The current expansion is expected to lead to 10 to 20 new jobs in Daleville, according to Shannon Booker, External Relations with CSRA, located in Falls Church, VA.
