DALEVILLE LIONS CLUB INVITES COMMUNITY TO FIGHT HUNGER
Daleville, November 2, 2016 – The Daleville Lions Club is inviting all community residents to donate non perishable food items from November 3-16 at locations throughout the city including the Water Department, Billy Adkins Community Center, Daleville Optical, Daleville Library, Builder’s Cash & Carry.  This event is part of the “Relieving the Hunger” Campaign, a Lions global campaign that focuses on hunger and malnutrition.

Daleville gets new ambulance
The Daleville Department of Public Safety recently added its first box ambulance to its fleet of emergency vehicles.Rescue Capt. David Grubbs said the $105,000 vehicle was paid for with collections from services rendered and no debt was incurred.The new ambulance is now in the weekly rotation schedule with the two smaller ambulances.

Daleville Senior Center members are busy preparing for Halloween, a homemade quilt give-away and a holiday bazaar. This is the second year for the center to hold the “Safe Haven Halloween Trick or Treat Festival” and they are partnering with the city’s Recreation Department to provide even more fun for the community on Oct. 31.

Outgoing Daleville Mayor Claudia Wigglesworth said, “It’s been an amazing four years. We’ve gotten a lot done, a lot that was promised, that the good people of Daleville elected me to do,” during her farewell comments at the Oct. 18 regularly scheduled city council meeting.
