Out of 2,523 hospitals in the United States, Enterprise Medical Center and Flowers Hospital (in Dothan) have both been ranked in the top ten for safety by the The Leapfrog Group, an independent, national not-for-profit organization that was founded more than a decade ago by the nation’s leading employers and private health care experts.
The ranking measures patient safety, which is how hospitals and other health care organizations protect their patients from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections. According to HospitalSafetyScore.org, as many as 440,000 people die every year from preventable errors in hospitals. It’s up to everyone to make sure that patient safety is the number one priority at every hospital across the United States. Some hospitals have hidden dangers, but there are things you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones.
Both Medical Center Enterprise and Flowers Hospital (each located about 15 minutes away from Daleville) received "Straight A'S" in the LeapFrog group's safety grading system. For more information please visit HospitalSafetyScore.org.
