A Daleville citizen was recently recognized for his contribution and support of local fire departments during a fire.On July 11, the Asian Buffet restaurant in Daleville was destroyed in a nighttime fire. Fort Rucker and Enterprise Fire Departments and Level Plains and Clayhatchee Volunteer Fire Departments assisted during the fire.Matt LeFleur, according to Daleville Police Chief William "Willy' Powell, provided drinks to fire fighters."It was greatly appreciated," Powell said. "The firemen appreciated it; I appreciated it. It was something he just did on his own as a Good Samaritan. That's what we need in America today."The certificate of appreciation thanks LeFleur for his support."In recognition of your selfless contribution that significantly enhanced the safety and welfare to the Fire Department, the Department of Public Safety and the community of Daleville, Alabama during the restaurant fire on 11 July 2017. Your leadership and act of kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated."Mayor Jayme Stayton also presented LeFleur with a City of Daleville coin for his support and contribution to the city. Stayton said the coin is given to those who "go above and beyond."
