Daleville students attend Lions Club forum

With sponsorship from the Daleville Lions Club, five Daleville High School students had the opportunity to attend the Eighth Annual Lions High School Leadership Forum (ALHSLF) held June 16-18 at Troy University.The students were Amber Alvarado, Jerry White, Trinity Gray, Kori Raybon and Gabe Gordon. This year, 244 high school students from around the state attended the forum. The theme was a "Century of Service" in recognition of the 100th anniversary of Lions Clubs International.J. Frank Moore III, of Daleville, was one of the speakers at the forum. Moore previously served as the International President of Lions Clubs International. He is currently serving as the International Centennial Action Committee Chairperson.According to a statement from the Daleville Lions Club, the purpose of the ALHSLF is to build and strengthen leadership, relationships, and the power to serve, among the youth in Alabama. The goals of the ALHSLF are to give Alabama high school students an opportunity to strengthen their leadership, organization and service skills, to build relationships and to network with other leaders – both youth and adult – from across the State of Alabama.It is also meant to encourage, motivate and empower youth to return to their schools and communities as advocates for positive change and service through understanding and action based on effective, ethical and compassionate leadership.
