Faith Riders raise funds for children, veterans
The Daleville Baptist Church chapter of the Faith Riders Motorcycle Ministry hosted a fundraising ride for the Alabama Baptist Children's Home and the DAV Post #95 on Saturday, June 25.Over 15 Faith Riders took part in the 100-mile "God and Country" ride, including members of the Memphis Baptist Church chapter and Bethlehem Baptist Church.According to member Claudia Wigglesworth, the "God and Country" ride is just another way for the group to give back to the community. This is the fourth year the Faith Riders Ministry has hosted the ride. Both the children's home and the DAV received donations of about $430 from the Faith Riders. The donations were made possible through the registration fees for the ride and donations from Daleville Baptist Church. The Daleville chapter of the Faith Riders meets at Daleville Baptist Church, the Memphis Baptist chapter meets at Memphis Baptist Church every third Thursday of the month for "Thursday Night Thunder" rides. The Bethlehem Baptist chapter meets on the first Friday of each month.According to Chapter President Charles Wigglesworth, the next planned ride will occur in October, which will focus on bringing food donations to each of the three local food pantries.
